Charitable Donations
Every year the Marlow Half Marathon sets out to raise money for vital local charities and Community Interest Groups. Since 1989, we have raised £334k for over 40 organisations around the local community. The charities we support are not generally the mainstream charities, that generate millions of pounds in fundraising each year, they are very much smaller community based organisations, where a one off donation makes a massive impact to what they can achieve!
This year is no exception – we are supporting the following amazing causes:
Charity fundraising
We are proud to be supporting the following charities from the proceeds of the 2026 Marlow Half Marathon:
Brighter Futures Together: Brighter Futures Together is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) supporting young people to build confidence, connection and opportunity. They combine youth-led delivery, training and consultancy to strengthen both young people and the systems around them. Rooted in real-world experience across the youth sector and health services, their work is practical, relational and inclusive. Every project, partnership and training session is designed to create safe spaces, strengthen support networks and reinvest back into the communities they serve.
Stamp Out Suicide: Stamp Out Suicide (SOS) is a UK-registered charity dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health support. The charity provides free, confidential telephone counselling for people experiencing suicidal thoughts and works to raise awareness of suicide prevention across communities in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Through counselling, education, and training, SOS aims to offer hope, support, and practical help to those affected by suicide and mental health challenges.
Marlow Sports Club: Our home base as Marlow Striders running club, is also the base of many Sports Clubs in the town. MSC have been looking to improve the facilities in the building for some time and have recently submitted planning permission to redevelop the entire club house facilities. These are exciting times for all of the clubs at the site, BUT the changes come at a cost. As such, we are committed to doing out part from the Half Marathon to raise funds to help support this vital redevelopment within our community.

We raise money for the charities through the profit made in organising the Marlow Half Marathon races and through one-off donations made by runners, sponsors and any donors online.
